Please note that Commercial version of the UBISLATE tablet would be launched by January. Rs 2250 is the price of the device at which Government will be giving to students. The commercial device would be priced at Rs 2999 which would include additional features like embedded SIM and can be used as phone, due to launch in December. If you are a student; ministry is doing 2 step process. Its putting 1 lakh unit into field trial which means only 3000 pcs per state. Ministry will start to distribute 1 Crore units after the field trial, at which time all students are expected to have a tablet each. This process will take about 3-6 months.
